The thirties took art deco's geometry and set it in motion. Streamline moderne rounded the sharp corners, extended the proportions, and added the horizontal speed lines borrowed from locomotives and ocean liners. Alongside it ran the plainer signage of a decade with less money, and both remain enormously useful for period work.
