Roster

When Matthew Carter and Jesse Ragan designed Roster, they took the visual tension of squared corners within rounded shapes to an extreme. Its outer shapes are large, curved rectangles; the inner shapes have the chisel-cut clarity of counters carved out of the letterforms. The effect, subtly seen in a text face, is a dramatic slab serif display family. It can be used in smaller sizes, but the real flex is to go big. Carter & Cone’s Roster comprises 60 styles — 6 weights, 5 widths, plus Italics.
