Information
LTC Cloister is a handsomely bookish serif based on Morris Fuller Benson’s designs from 1913–15. This Old Style family was digitized by Jim Rimmer in the early 2000s. It is a Venetian face closely styled to that of Nicholas Jensen, with the companion italic following Aldus Manutius. Benton considered Cloister the ideal typeface, which indeed lends itself to many uses: book titles and chapter headings, magazine mastheads and callouts, newspaper quotes and bylines, and this is only for starters!
