Garamond

From Ludlow Type Foundry

Garamond is an old-style serif typeface designed by Robert Hunter Middleton and released by the Ludlow Typograph Company around 1929–1930. Inspired by 16th-century French typefaces, it features elegant proportions, open counters, and a light color on the page, making it suitable for book typography and refined editorial design. The Ludlow Garamond family was issued in multiple weights, including Roman, Italic, Bold, and Bold Italic. It was later digitized by Steve Jackaman for the Red Rooster Collection, preserving its graceful character for contemporary use.
