Information

Radiant is a modulated sans-serif typeface originally designed by R. Hunter Middleton and released by the Ludlow Typograph Company in 1938. Distinguished by its pronounced contrast between vertical and horizontal strokes, Radiant blends the clarity of sans-serif forms with the elegance of transitional serif styles. This unique design makes it particularly effective for display purposes, such as advertising, headlines, and editorial layouts. The original Ludlow family comprised seven styles: Medium, Medium Italic, Bold, Heavy, Bold Condensed, Bold Condensed Italic, and Bold Extra Condensed. Radiant was later digitized by Steve Jackaman for the Red Rooster Collection, preserving its distinctive character for contemporary use.
