Bryant

From Process Type Foundry

Long since replaced by computers, the popular Wrico mechanical lettering kits used by draftsmen and amateur sign makers in the 60s and 70s served as the inspiration for the Bryant family of typefaces. Well-suited for a range of tasks, the Bryant fonts are a warm and modern take on the geometric sans serif. Since its original release in 2002, Bryant has been updated and expanded to include Extended Latin support as well as a Pro version with Small Caps, multiple numeral styles, and italics.

Bryant Condensed is the middle member of the three Bryant widths. Exuding the same warm demeanor popularized by its big brother Bryant, this family of condensed fonts is a simple collection of four weights. The name denotes a condensed width though it’s probably best described as ‘not too wide’. Given that, we think the family is well-suited for a range of display and medium text sizes. OpenType features include arrows and stylistic alternates.

Bryant Compressed is the narrowest of Bryant’s three widths, designed for situations where large point sizes and maximum letter count need to coexist. Sharp stem joins and increased contrast – stylistic departures from the other weights and widths — allow these fonts to preserve Bryant’s warm tone while saving space. OpenType features include arrows and stylistic alternates.
