Information
Alexon is a serif font family. It was originally designed by Les Usherwood (Typsettra), and was digitally produced by Steve Jackaman (ITF) in 1992 exclusively for the Red Rooster Collection. Alexon began its life as a single weight, however Jackaman expanded on the original designs and produced three additional weights. Alexon was inspired by ‘Basilea,’ a font created by Markus J. Low in 1965 for Visual Graphics Corporation (VGC). Basilea won first prize in the 1965 National Typeface Design Competition. Alexon has a formal, clean feel, and would be right at home in medical journals or professional mastheads. The family emits confidence and sets well at any size.
