The font is based on a turn-of-the-century typeface of the same name, which is believed to have originated from the Soldans & Payvers foundry around 1904. Stanhope is a font family designed by Les Usherwood from Typsettra. It was produced by Paul Hickson and Steve Jackaman for the Red Rooster Collection in 1993. With its classic letterforms and balanced proportions, Stanhope is well-suited for editorial design, book covers, and formal invitations.
